What a great first half term we have had in Y5! We have all enjoyed learning about Space and our trip to the National Space Centre topped it off brilliantly! Thank you all for your hard work and great attitudes so far.
Next half-term we will be learning about 'The Vikings' and their involvement in British History. We will be finding out: where they came from and when, what they did, why they came to Britain and what it was like to live in Britain during the Viking era. Our English work will be based around this topic and we will be reading 'The Legend of Beowulf'.
In Maths we will be continuing with our work on fractions and moving on to measurement and area/perimeter.
On Tuesday 4th December, we will be inviting parents/carers in to school to join us in our Viking shield-making workshop. Please join us in the classroom at 2.30pm on this day.
Don't forget it is Grandparents' Day on Tuesday 13th November and Children in Need on Friday 16th November.
Please continue to work as hard as you have been doing. Have a great break and see you on Monday 5th November to start our new topic!
Miss Zadrozny and Mrs Brailsford
