Welcome back everyone and Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and are returning to school raring to go!
This term we will be learning about Earthquakes as part of our 'What makes the Earth angry?' topic. Most of our English work will be based around this topic as we will be reading lots of news reports about various earthquakes that have taken place around the world. We will also be imagining what it would be like to experience an earthquake and doing some writing in role.
Our Maths work will centre largely around shape. We will be looking at area and perimeter, the properties of 2D and 3D shapes and various other objectives such as symmetry and reflection.
Don't forget our celebration of work which will take place on Friday 1st February at 2.30pm. All are welcome! It will take place in the classroom and will be a good opportunity for the children to share their work with you. We will aim to finish at around 3.15pm ready for home time.
Thank you once again for all your hard work so far in Y5.
Keep it up!
Miss Zadrozny and Mrs Brailsford.
